Areas of Expertise and Influence

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

My post-graduate training was at Clearwater Clinic where I provided DBT one on one therapy, parent coaching, and taught skills classes as part of an intensive DBT treatment team. I sharpened my diagnostic and therapeutic skills and learned that skills- based interventions in the categories of Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness not only profoundly improve but often save lives.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

My graduate school academic and clinical training was in Psychoanalytical theory and approaches. I learned that what is out of awareness can be brought into awareness through relationship, language, and examining the ways in which the past shows up in the present.

Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy

My extensive training as a mindfulness and meditation teacher and psychotherapist and as a longtime mindfulness and meditation practitioner is an integral part of who I am. I believe that attentional awareness and all that presence has to offer can impact how we experience suffering and how we see ourselves and others.

Who I am and who I work with

I entered the field of mental health when I opened a high school wellness center and served as the intake specialist for three years. During that time, I worked in many capacities for the school community, providing programming, crisis intervention, teacher trainings, and psychoeducation for students. I received my Masters in Psychology at CIIS in the Community Mental Health Program. I worked with socioeconmically and socially marginalized people as a therapist with the Clinic Without Walls in San Francisco. I have experience working with couples, children 12+, young adults, seniors, neurodivergent folks, and LGBTQIA and BIPOC folks. I am deeply committed to cultural humility and responsiveness.
